Interview with Michelle Reid Describe your desk:
It is an unfinished desk, that way I can get paint, ink or whatever on it and I just have to sand it out. It has special meaning to me it was give to me by one of my best friends and she is also my sister. It is covered with my Computer, lots of pens and pencils, printer, Paints and brushes, resource books and lots of dust rather paint or write than clean... LOL When you're not writing, how do you spend your time? If I am not writing I am painting. My first love was of drawing and seeing a story in the works I would create. I started writing them down in poem or short story form. So, my time not writing is still spent telling a story. What is your e-reading device of choice? I don't use a e-reader. I have sight problems and read my books on a 70" computer screen. My eye doctor said once, "You are blind in one eye and can't see out of the other." How do you approach cover design? Cover design is very tricky and I have not figured it out yet... But I am working on it. Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you? The first story I ever enjoyed reading was, "I Can't Said the Ant" by Polly Cameron. It is a story written in poetic verse and it was the first time I understood the connections that words have to each other. I was a child that had a learning disability and reading was not my strong suit. But telling stories was something that I love to do. I would highly recommend this book to any parent with a child that has reading problems. It was the start of my love for poems and ability to read well to this day. |
