Hand painted: Mixed Media~Acrylic and pastel Title of art: Look To The Past For Tomorrow Dimensions 28" X 20" X 1 " Valued at: $1,800.00 This painting is done is Acrylic and pastel with a Satin finish on a stretch canvass. This art work was done during the time the artist was losing her vision which makes it even more of a treasure. Thank the Lord for great Doctor and surgery so she is able to keep painting. In American Indian Folk Lore there are some awesome tales and beliefs. One is of the White Crow and White Buffalo. This painting has a portrait of Geronimo in the clouds. He was not a great chef but a member of the tribe, I used him because we all have greatness in us has great a any chef that is what make a great nation is the least of us succeeding. The fence is a depiction of the bearers we all put up that keep us from understanding one another. The four features depict the four directions WEST, EAST, NORTH AND SOUTH NATIONS. Quote from the Artist: One day probably after I am died and gone the America Indian nation will be part of the UN and will teach all the nations of unity of community that they seem to have in their tribal Council. Done in honor of a great people. The following is the poem written about the story that it tells: Look to the past for Tomorrow Treaties and they talked of peace From the Great White One to Sitting Bull and Cochise Help save us from the fenced walls, Or watch this stolen nation fall! Geronimo, they yell as they fall But the White buffalo says to save them all. Each memory of each desecration Separates the great nations, West, east, south and north chefs must be one tribe, The great white buffalo tells the tale and it was scribed, To add the Red, White, Black and Yellow into one nation, Look to the past for tomorrow revelations, Since the dawn of time history repeats Unless we unite into one tribe, we will all have defeat, Look to the Native Chef's legends and belief, Not in one tribe but in all even the commander and chef, Take it from the White crow that bellowed the warning to the breed, Forgive the names faded from the list for they are part of the creed, Kept them close but your enemy closer, To make him a friend and all become the next composer. And the black crow will not need to be a white one to warn you of the impunity, Look to the past for tomorrow and the unity of our community. Title of Art: Mellow Yellow Dimensions: 14.000 x 11.000 x 1.000 inches Original is not available. Collector's J M Winters of Arlington. Value Price: $375.00 All Paintings and prints come with a certificate of authenticity. The follow poem is included with the painting. Mellow Yellow A dreamlike sensation, Shared everyday in all the nation, A dab of goldenrod and then yellow, Whisking through my mind is a sound so mellow, The happiness of a brief splash, And then the wave crash, Sunflowers in bright yellow bow, In coy flirtation of the brilliant glow that is so wow. The brightness in the water It glistened off the back of a nearby otter, It reminds me of grandmother's dandelion's in the spring Playing in the fallow fields in the tree swing, Glinted flax planted under summer sun Welcoming you home as the day is done. It is a good friend we see each day, And this is why yellow is the color of friendship in everyway. Copyright 2014 Michelle Reid |
