How to be a Professional Artist
I was surfing the web this week on How to be better at the stuff that most Artist are not really great at that is business.
I found an article titled "How to be a professional artist" and one of the points it brought up was if you are not working on your art daily your not an artist. Now I didn't go to art school becuase of my learning disabilities but I know that through history many Artist's that are Collected for Millions like Leonardo is today, where not daily painter and would get in trouble for be behind schedule all the time. Yet their art was and is Masterful and breath taking. So to say if you sit and wait on finishing a work makes you a bad Artist I be that bad Artist Like Leonardo. And I beat you that my works are one day worth top dollar because I am a slow Artist that thinks about the work and the wants of the Collector and not just to do art to do Art....
So, I can't agree with that article at all. I have more than one work that is over 40 years in the making and others that are done in a few years. And a very few that are completed in a month or a day. But the reward is the Collector's happiness with the work that is better than the amount of money you get.
