Poetry and the Poet
Why is it that everyone can identify poetry, but no one can define it? No matter how comprehensive the description, there is always a poem that doesn’t quite fit the given parameters.
Poets are the some way... They may be doctors, lawyers, Indian chiefs, chefs, librarians, activists, teachers, writers, musicians, visual artists, and more but they are never just poets. Poets are as complex as the poems that are written.
The one thing that you can say about poetry is that it is not one form, it doesn't have to follow any grammar or even spelling rules.
Dr. Seuss is a great example of all rules barred. Yet more children understand the English language today because of his work.
The Poet says that not everything or one fits into one system of measurement. Learning in just one way or form is boring. So explore your Inner Poet-your inspiration will take you to answers that you never saw, feelings you may have lost and open your mind to create. It may sound silly to you but writing a poem can inspire doctors to see cures to illness, lawyers the answer to a case, Indian chef the wisdom to lead, chef the next best food trend, make a Librarian an author and teachers think outside the box to aid child with a learning disability and so on...
So, viva the Poets that we all are.
